Fake Blood

Unfortunately, we cannot give you measurements.  This is a trial and error recipe!
Cornstarch, glycerin, Karo Corn Syrup (clear color), water, food coloring - red and blue with a "smidgen" of green
Mix Syrup and glycerin together - more syrup than glycerin.  Try the ratio of 4 Tablespoons syrup to 1/2 - 1 teaspoon glycerin.  I think the glycerin allows the blood to flow (and makes it easy to wash off skin and clothing).  Slowly add cornstarch (spoonfuls) and just a few drops of water.  Slowly add red food coloring - it takes quite a bit of red - unless you want the Pepto Bismol pink color.  We carefully add a drop of blue and then add more red.  Test the blood by dropping on hand and watching the "flow" down the hand.  It should flow s-l-o-w-l-y.

This will wash off easily with washcloth and water.  We use this in our outdoor Easter Drama.  Jesus hides behind a sand dune after the crucifixion and before the resurrection scene.  He is cleaned up with a minimum of water, time and effort!
